Surfing in a Ragnarok-infested place.

Currently looking for pictures of Madrid slums while checking my email at the same time. It's a wee bit job-related, but I don't mind. What I can't believe is how hard it is to find one. I got one pic after one hour. Maybe people really don't want to show off the not-so-nice face of their country/city. If I look for Manila slums will I have the same problem? I wonder, but I don't have enough money to indulge in that experiment right now.

I guess most of everyone knows that I'm currently working at CIS now (that's Center for International Studies, if you don't know). Work's ok, body clock just adjusting to waking up early, staying up and awake all day. You can actually have sane and logical conversations with me during lunchtime, if I'm not too lazy to walk all the way to the tambayan. Airconditioned rooms kinda spoil you. I used to be stuck in our sauna-like room in Sampaloc, stuck in front of the computer doing "stuff." Now, I'm so tired of staring at computer screens I don't even feel like playing any games when I get home.

The highlight of the week or the most windang part anyway, was calling the Russian embassy to ask for the name of the Cultural Attache and getting connected directly to the Attache himself by mistake. He barely understood what I was saying but at least I got his name and the correct spelling. The good thing about it was that he didn't get angry and actually was laughing at the end of the conversation.

The runner-up for this week would be calling the Italian embassy. They're automated so I didn't get to talk to anyone, but the voice they used for the English interface was the voice of a Chinese guy. It might not be a really good idea, but Bengki wanted to check it out for herself so I gave her the number.... hehe. They're closed on weekends,of course.

Come to think of it, Dell persistently giving me macapuno candies last Tuesday was pretty freaky. And so, to complement Macapuno Man....

fuck
your fuck.
